New Expanded Facility for your enjoyment!
Notice: Temporary Access and Facility Changes – June 3–8
From June 3 to 8, the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum will be undergoing sewer line replacement work. The museum parking lot will remain open; however, entry to the museum will be via the municipal pathway.
For easier access, we recommend that visitors park at the Visitor Centre parking lot across the highway and use the crosswalk to reach the museum.
Please note that during this time, the public washrooms inside the building will be out of service. Portable washrooms have been set up on the property for visitor use.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we complete this necessary maintenance.
Preserving the Past
for the Future
The Fort Nelson Heritage Museum is situated just west of the historic Mile 300 milepost on the world famous Alaska Highway
The museum buildings as well as the grounds house a large collection of vehicles and equipment, including items from World War II when the Highway was being built.
